Weekly Tarot Forecast: 22 July 2017

Welcome to your weekly Tarot forecast! It’s definitely getting to be high summer here in southwestern Oregon. The area here continues to dry out, as is normal for the region’s climate. And the wildfires have started.

Today I’m using the Golden Tarot by Kat Black. Still love this medieval collage deck. Kat’s attention to detail in putting these artworks together is amazing. No fluffy bunnies here; just real joy and suffering from a medieval world view focused on the challenges of this life and hope for the rewards of the next.

Since there is no specific question or area of concern for these readings, my interpretation will be very general in nature, based on my sense of what the Tarot itself is addressing and the general energy potentials for the week.

Let’s do a chronological look first, and then we’ll use some mirror pairs to round out the message.

The Timeline View

We start the week with a bit of a challenge. “Watch your back,” this guy seems to say as it looks like he’s stealing three swords from the enemy encampment (Seven of Swords). Clever, maybe, but definitely risky. Make sure that some “deal” you are presented with this week is really worth it and is not just designed to deceive. Also, keep an eye on your own integrity and don’t do anything that violates your own ethics. Looks like if you play your cards right (and maybe return the swords), you’ll be able to take advantage of a financial opportunity that’s waiting for you (Seven of Coins).

By midweek, another challenge awaits you. You’ll be given the opportunity to keep all the good stuff from that Seven of Coins energy for yourself at the expense of others. The Five of Swords advises you to be careful; the changes started by an unethical desire to win might keep you from seeing the gift at the end of the week.

As you move on toward week’s end, you’ll get a chance to move into a much more loving space (Knight of Cups) and receive a new business opportunity or positive support from folks at home. So, navigate those character challenges in the earlier part of the week carefully!

The Mirrored Tarot Pairs

The focal point for this view of your cards is the Five of Swords, a card with a choice about how you want change to occur. You can play this week as a win-lose proposition, or a win-win.

Now let’s pair the outer cards up to see how they might inform your situation. The Seven of Swords and Ace of Coins are facing away from each other, which indicates to me that if you take a sneaky approach to serve only your own interests (Seven of Swords), then the change in the Five o Swords will lead you to lose the opportunity presented by the Ace of Coins. You will likely offend someone or break trust in a way that will withdraw that offer. Be careful!

The inner pair reflect the two more positive aspects of this week’s energy. If you handle the situation this week with patience and love, you will see a much better result, with access to the bounty from the Seven of Coins and openness to the new opportunity of the Ace of Coins. Look for the win-win!

Cosmic Whispers of the Week

Siobhan Rene has written a wonderful guest post for Little Red Tarot on the court cards. I love her little tables showing the traits and how they work. And this is just the first of a series. Check it out here. And don’t forget to visit Siobhan’s own site as well.

Having learned the Lenormand system from Andy Boroveshengra several years ago, I am very happy to see that he is starting video courses on both Lenormand and Tarot de Marseille reading. Should definitely be worth your while to know his perspective. Check out the details here.
