Weekly Tarot Forecast: 12 February 2017

Welcome to your weekly Tarot forecast! For this reading, we have a return of the Osho Zen Tarot deck, illustrated by Ma Deva Padma. I find the Zen Buddhist perspective of this deck to be wonderfully transformative.

Since there is no specific question or area of concern for these readings, my interpretation will be very general in nature, based on my sense of what the Tarot itself is addressing and the general energy potentials for the week.

Let’s do a chronological look first, and then we’ll use some mirror pairs to round out the message.

The Timeline View

The week starts with unrealistic expectations (Six of Water). You may be tempted to rely on others to give you what you can give yourself—love and support. You will need to let go of wanting someone else to “fix” your aloneness; adopting a form of meditation may help you to leave that “knight in shining armor” dream (boy, did I believe in that one a long time ago!) behind. Moving or sitting or however you want to get in touch with your Golden Self; it will be important in making your way through the challenges of the rest of the week. Those challenges begin with something falling apart on you that you can’t control (The Thunderbolt-Tower). Doesn’t have to be anything super big, but you will likely face a situation where you have to take a loss and start over. And you may be on your own with no one outside of yourself to rescue you. Sorry about that.

Midweek will bring your second challenge, following on the first (Ten of Fire). Now that something has broken, you may feel a burden from this loss that you cannot share; but try thinking of the breaking of the Thunderbolt as an opening of cracks within yourself that have held you back (in your dream of filling your aloneness from the outside). It’s time to shake off those ropes that bind you, and allow your light to shine free. Only then will you see how to proceed.

As you move on toward week’s end and allow yourself the freedom to express your own passionate self, you will also find calm in the energy of the Seven of Rainbows. You will have a breather where you can wait and see how to move forward into the next week, for at the end of the week, you may receive an invitation to try something quite new (now that we can see the true you!). Whatever is offered may seem like a bit of a risk emotionally, but if you’ve internalized the messages from the previous cards, you should be able to move into a new activity or relationship space with trust and confidence.

The Mirrored Tarot Pairs

Now let’s pair the outer cards up to see how they might inform your situation. This is interesting; the fantasy of the Six of Water meets the childlike trust of The Fool. The first is a focus on what we think we don’t have (someone to fulfill us), and the second is a total trust in the universe to launch oneself into a new adventure. I suggest that in order to succeed this week, our inner Fool will need to take our hand and pull us away from relying too much on others. The Fool will be the key to moving in a new direction and letting go of old expectations.

The second pair, the Thunderbolt and the Seven of Rainbows, again show opposing energies meeting in one space. It looks like the power of calm waiting will be necessary for some part of the week to recover from whatever is suddenly lost. The Seven of Rainbows is saying, “Give it a pause,” and things will begin to resolve.

The focal point for this view of your cards is the Ten of Fire. Your ability to let go of your own desire to retreat and hunker down will be crucial to your success in recovering from whatever challenges you face this week. Be willing to change things up, shake things up, to reveal your best move for the week.

Cosmic Tarot Whispers of the Week

Thanks to the Facebook Tarot Blog Hop group, I have discovered a lot of great bloggers on all things Tarot. I give you M. Juniper from the Lost Star Tarot this week. He has a great take on the contrasting interpretations of The Lovers card.

My Tarot buddy from the wilds of Bute, Scotland, Alison Cross, is making me feel better this week with her take on the power of the feminine. The activities and attitudes of our current president in the USA are causing a great deal of consternation among women in particular, so I appreciate her reminder of the power we have through the archetypes of the Queens of Tarot.
